NOCTURNE

Headless storefront with a custom checkout flow and an editorial product page.

Dark studio desk with a storefront design on screen

Overview

Nocturne sells a small, considered catalogue and wanted a storefront that reads like an editorial rather than a template. We designed and built the whole front end against a headless commerce backend, so merchandising stays in the tools the team already knows while the experience is entirely ours to shape.

The challenge

Editorial layouts and fast commerce usually pull in opposite directions. Large imagery, custom type and per-product art direction fight the speed a checkout needs. The brief was to keep both: a page that feels designed, and a purchase path that never makes anyone wait.

What we built

A component system where each product can opt into its own layout without forking code, server-rendered pages with streamed product data, and a checkout that stays on the storefront until the payment step. Content editors get a small set of composable blocks instead of a page builder.

Highlights
  • Headless architecture, fully custom front end
  • Per-product art direction without code forks
  • On-site checkout up to the payment step
